BACKGROUND: Several studies report that radiomics provides additional information for predicting hematoma expansion in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). However, the comparison of diagnostic performance of radiomics for predicting revised hematoma expansion (RHE) remains unclear. METHODS: The cohort comprised 312 consecutive patients with ICH. A total of 1106 radiomics features from seven categories were extracted using Python software. Support vector machines achieved the best performance in both the training and validation datasets. Clinical factors models were constructed to predict RHE. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to assess the abilities of non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) signs, radiomics features, and combined models to predict RHE. RESULTS: We finally selected the top 21 features for predicting RHE. After univariate analysis, 4 clinical factors and 5 NCCT signs were selected for inclusion in the prediction models. In the training and validation dataset, radiomics features had a higher predictive value for RHE (AUC = 0.83) than a single NCCT sign and expansion-prone hematoma. The combined prediction model including radiomics features, clinical factors, and NCCT signs achieved higher predictive performances for RHE (AUC = 0.88) than other combined models. CONCLUSIONS: NCCT radiomics features have a good degree of discrimination for predicting RHE in ICH patients. Combined prediction models that include quantitative imaging significantly improve the prediction of RHE, which may assist in the risk stratification of ICH patients for anti-expansion treatments.

Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD) was involved in widely transcriptional changes in central and peripheral tissues. While, previous studies focused on single tissues, making it difficult to represent systemic molecular changes throughout the body. Thus, there is an urgent need to explore the central and peripheral biomarkers with intrinsic correlation. Methods: We systematically retrieved gene expression profiles of blood and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). 3 blood datatsets (84 MDD and 88 controls) and 6 ACC datasets (100 MDD and 100 controls) were obtained. Differential expression analysis, RobustRankAggreg (RRA) analysis, functional enrichment analysis, immune associated analysis and protein-protein interaction networks (PPI) were integrated. Furthermore, the key genes were validated in an independent ACC dataset (12 MDD and 15 controls) and a cohort with 120 MDD and 117 controls. Results: Differential expression analysis identified 2211 and 2021 differential expressed genes (DEGs) in blood and ACC, respectively. RRA identified 45 and 25 robust DEGs in blood and ACC based on DEGs, and all of them were closely associated with immune cells. Functional enrichment results showed both the robust DEGs in blood and ACC were enriched in humoral immune response. Furthermore, PPI identified 8 hub DEGs (CD79A, CD79B, CD19, MS4A1, PLP1, CLDN11, MOG, MAG) in blood and ACC. Independent ACC dataset showed the area under the curve (AUC) based on these hub DEGs was 0.77. Meanwhile, these hub DEGs were validated in the serum of MDD patients, and also showed a promising diagnostic power. Conclusions: The biomarker panel based on hub DEGs yield a promising diagnostic efficacy, and all of these hub DEGs were strongly correlated with immunity. Humoral immune response may be the key link between the brain and blood in MDD, and our results may provide further understanding for MDD.

Previously, we reported a cohort of Japanese encephalitis (JE) patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome. However, the evidence linking Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection and peripheral nerve injury (PNI) remains limited, especially the epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome significantly differ from traditional JE. We performed a retrospective and multicenter study of 1626 patients with JE recorded in the surveillance system of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, spanning the years 2016-2020. Cases were classified into type 1 and type 2 JE based on whether the JE was combined with PNI or not. A comparative analysis was conducted on demographic characteristics, clinical manifestations, imaging findings, electromyography data, laboratory results, and treatment outcomes. Among 1626 laboratory confirmed JE patients, 230 (14%) were type 2 mainly located along the Yellow River in northwest China. In addition to fever, headache, and disturbance of consciousness, type 2 patients experienced acute flaccid paralysis of the limbs, as well as severe respiratory muscle paralysis. These patients presented a greater mean length of stay in hospital (children, 22 years [range, 1-34]; adults, 25 years [range, 0-183]) and intensive care unit (children, 16 years [range, 1-30]; adults, 17 years [range, 0-102]). The mortality rate was higher in type 2 patients (36/230 [16%]) compared to type 1 (67/1396 [5%]). The clinical classification of the diagnosis of JE may play a crucial role in developing a rational treatment strategy, thereby mitigating the severity of the disease and potentially reducing disability and mortality rates among patients.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the efficacy of arthroscopic treatment for patients with rotator cuff injuries and frozen shoulder combined with rotator cuff injuries and assess the factors influencing patient prognosis. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on 85 patients who underwent arthroscopic surgery at Hanzhong Central Hospital between October 2016 and October 2021, including 42 patients treated for rotator cuff injuries alone (Group A), and 43 patients for frozen shoulder combined with rotator cuff injuries (Group B). Both groups underwent general anesthesia with controlled hypotension during surgery. Treatment outcomes, including shoulder joint functional scores, pain scores, shoulder joint range of motion, and muscle strength were assessed and compared between the two groups before treatment, as well as at 2 weeks and 2 months post-treatment. Quality of life was also evaluated and compared at 2 months post-treatment. Patients were categorized into good and poor prognosis groups based on their outcome, and factors influencing patient prognosis were analyzed. RESULTS: Before treatment, both groups exhibited relatively low shoulder joint function scores and external rotation angles, coupled with higher pain scores; however, these differences were not significant between groups (all P>0.05). The surgery duration for Group B was notably longer than that of Group A (P<0.05). Nevertheless, there was no significant variance in intraoperative blood loss between the two groups (P>0.05). After a 2-week treatment duration, both groups demonstrated a significant improvement in shoulder joint function score, pain score, and shoulder joint range of motion compared to baseline, but with no statistically significant intergroup differences. However, two months after the treatment, patients in Group A exhibited marked improvements in shoulder joint function score, pain score, shoulder joint range of motion, and overall quality of life compared to Group B (all P<0.05). Furthermore, the therapeutic efficacy in Group A was superior to that in Group B at the 2-month follow-up (P<0.05). Age, comorbid diabetes, metabolic disorders such as thyroid dysfunction, and the extent of shoulder cuff injury were identified as independent risk factors influencing prognosis. CONCLUSION: Arthroscopic treatment is effective for both frozen shoulder combined with rotator cuff injury and rotator cuff injury alone, with better outcomes observed in patients with rotator cuff injury only. This technique warrants further promotion.

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder, of which molecular pathogenesis remains largely unknown. Accumulating evidence suggest that gut microbiota may affect brain function via the complex gut-brain axis, which may be a potential contributor to schizophrenia. However, the alteration of gut microbiota showed high heterogeneity across different studies. Therefore, this study aims to identify the consistently altered gut microbial taxa associated with schizophrenia. Methods: We conducted a systematic search and synthesis of the up-to-date human gut microbiome studies on schizophrenia, and performed vote counting analyses to identify consistently changed microbiota. Further, we investigated the effects of potential confounders on the alteration of gut microbiota. Results: We obtained 30 available clinical studies, and found that there was no strong evidence to support significant differences in α-diversity and ß-diversity between schizophrenic patients and healthy controls. Among 428 differential gut microbial taxa collected from original studies, we found that 8 gut microbial taxa were consistently up-regulated in schizophrenic patients, including Proteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, Lactobacillaceae, Enterobacteriaceae, Lactobacillus, Succinivibrio, Prevotella and Acidaminococcus. While 5 taxa were consistently down-regulated in schizophrenia, including Fusicatenibacter, Faecalibacterium, Roseburia, Coprococcus and Anaerostipes. Discussion: These findings suggested that gut microbial changes in patients with schizophrenia were characterized by the depletion of anti-inflammatory butyrate-producing genera, and the enrichment of certain opportunistic bacteria genera and probiotics. This study contributes to further understanding the role of gut microbiota in schizophrenia, and developing microbiota-based diagnosis and therapy for schizophrenia.

The risk factors and causes of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and the degree of functional recovery after ICH are distinct between young and elderly patients. The increasing incidence of ICH in young adults has become a concern; however, research on the molecules and pathways involved ICH in subjects of different ages is lacking. In this study, tandem mass tag (TMT)-based proteomics was utilized to examine the protein expression profiles of perihematomal tissue from young and aged mice 24 h after collagenase-induced ICH. Among the 5,129 quantified proteins, ICH induced 108 and 143 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in young and aged mice, respectively; specifically, there were 54 common DEPs, 54 unique DEPs in young mice and 89 unique DEPs in aged mice. In contrast, aging altered the expression of 58 proteins in the brain, resulting in 39 upregulated DEPs and 19 downregulated DEPs. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that ICH activated different proteins in complement pathways, coagulation cascades, the acute phase response, and the iron homeostasis signaling pathway in mice of both age groups. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis and ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) demonstrated that the unique DEPs in the young and aged mice were related to lipid metabolism and carbohydrate metabolism, respectively. Deeper paired-comparison analysis demonstrated that apolipoprotein M exhibited the most significant change in expression as a result of both aging and ICH. These results help illustrate age-related protein expression changes in the acute phase of ICH.

Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, and its morbidity and mortality rates are increasing annually. It is an independent risk factor for intensive care unit-acquired weakness (ICU-AW), which is a common complication of patients in ICU. This situation is also known as sepsis-associated acquired weakness (SAW), and it can be a complication in more than 60% of patients with sepsis. The outcomes of SAW are often prolonged mechanical ventilation, extended hospital stays, and increased morbidity and mortality of patients in ICUs. The pathogenesis of SAW is unclear, and an effective clinical treatment is not available. Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent type of cell death with unique morphological, biochemical, and genetic features. Unlike other forms of cell death such as autophagy, apoptosis, and necrosis, ferroptosis is primarily driven by lipid peroxidation. Cells undergo ferroptosis during sepsis, which further enhances the inflammatory response. This process leads to increased cell death, as well as multi-organ dysfunction and failure. Recently, there have been sporadic reports suggesting that SAW is associated with ferroptosis, but the exact pathophysiological mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, we reviewed the possible pathogenesis of ferroptosis that leads to SAW and offer new strategies to prevent and treat SAW.

Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) describes diffuse or multifocal cerebral dysfunction caused by the systemic inflammatory response to sepsis. SAE is a common neurological complication in patients in the middle and late stages of sepsis in the intensive care unit. Microglia, resident macrophages of the central nervous system, phagocytose small numbers of neuronal cells and apoptotic cells, among other cells, to maintain the dynamic balance of the brain's internal environment. The neuroinflammatory response induced by activated microglia plays a central role in the pathogenesis of various central nervous system diseases. In this paper, we systematically describe the functions and phenotypes of microglia, summarize how microglia mediate neuroinflammation and contribute to the occurrence and development of SAE, and discuss recent progress in autophagy- and microRNA-mediated regulation of microglial activation to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of SAE and identify related therapeutic targets.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a serious mental illness, characterized by disturbances of gut microbiome, it is required to further explore how the carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) were changed in MDD. Here, using the metagenomic data from patients with MDD (n = 118) and heath controls (HC, n = 118), we found that the whole CAZymes signatures of MDD were significantly discriminated from that in HC. α-diversity indexes of the two groups were also significantly different. The patients with MDD were characterized by enriched Glycoside Hydrolases (GHs) and Polysaccharide Lyases (PLs) relative to HC. A panel of makers composed of 9 CAZymes mainly belonging to GHs enabled to discriminate the patients with MDD and HC with AUC of 0.824. In addition, this marker panel could classify blinded test samples from the two groups with an AUC of 0.736. Moreover, we found that baseline 4 CAZymes levels also could predict the antidepressant efficacy after adjusted confounding factors and times of depressive episode. Our findings showed that MDD was associated with disturbances of gut CAZymes, which may help to develop diagnostic and predictive tools for depression.

OBJECTIVE: Genetic and lifestyles contribute to cholelithiasis, but the impact of adhering to healthy lifestyle on cholelithiasis risk remains uncertain. We aimed to assess combined lifestyle factors and a polygenic risk score on incident cholelithiasis. METHODS: We utilized cholelithiasis genome-wide association study (GWAS) data from FinnGen study, constructing varied polygenic risk score (PRS), and applied them to 317,640 UK Biobank participants. The relative and absolute risk of incident cholelithiasis associated with six well-established lifestyle risk factors, was evaluated and stratified by PRS (low risk [quintile 1], intermediate risk [quintiles 2-4] and high risk [quintile 5]). Lifestyle score was also categorized into favorable, intermediate, and unfavorable groups. RESULTS: The PRS derived from 13 single nucleotide polymorphisms (p ≤ 5 × 10-6, r2 < 0.001) showed the best performance. A significant gradient of increase in risk of cholelithiasis was observed across the quintiles of the polygenic risk score (p < 0.001). Compared to participants with low genetic risk, those with intermediate or high genetic risk had a 10% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.05-1.17) and 24% (95% CI = 1.16-1.32) higher risk of cholelithiasis. An unfavorable lifestyle was associated with an approximately 50% higher risk of cholelithiasis than a favorable lifestyle. Participants with high genetic risk and an unfavorable lifestyle had 98% (Hazard ratio [HR]: 1.98; 95% CI: 1.67-2.35) higher risk of cholelithiasis than those with low genetic risk and a favorable lifestyle. CONCLUSIONS: Our study highlights the importance of lifestyle behaviors intervention on cholelithiasis risk regardless of the genetic risk in White European population.

Depression is a serious mental illness. Previous studies found that early life stress (ELS) plays a vital role in the onset and progression of depression. However, relevant studies have not yet been able to explain the specific effects of early stress on stress-induced depression sensitivity and individual behavior during growth. Therefore, we constructed a maternal separation (MS) model and administered chronic social frustration stress at different stages of their growth while conducting metabolomics analysis on the hippocampus of mice. Our results showed that the immobility time of mice in the forced swimming test was significantly reduced at the end of MS. Meanwhile, mice with MS experience significantly decreased total movement distance in the open field test and sucrose preference ratio in the sucrose preference test when subjected to chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) during adolescence. In adulthood, the results were the opposite. In addition, we found that level changes in metabolites such as Beta-alanine, l-aspartic acid, 2-aminoadipic acid, and Glycine are closely related to behavioral changes. These metabolites are mainly enriched in Pantothenate, CoA biosynthesis, and Beta Alanine metabolism pathways. Our experiment revealed that the effects of ELS vary across different age groups. It will increase an individual's sensitivity to depression when facing CSDS in adolescence, but it will reduce their sensitivity to depression when facing CSDS in adulthood. This may be achieved by regulating the hippocampus's Pantothenate and CoA biosynthesis and Beta Alanine metabolism pathways represented by Beta-alanine, l-Aspartic acid, 2-aminoadipic acid, and Glycine metabolites.

Background: High tibial osteotomy (HTO) can cause postoperative hemorrhage. The use of tranexamic acid to reduce the hemorrhage is still controversial. Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid in HTO. Study Design: Systematic review; Level of evidence, 4. Methods: Using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, the authors conducted a comprehensive search of the Embase, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, MEDLINE, and Foreign Medical Literature Retrieval Service databases between their inception and January 1, 2023. All clinical studies comparing the use of tranexamic acid versus no tranexamic acid during HTO were collected. The primary outcome measures were hemoglobin decrease, drainage volume, and blood loss, and the secondary outcome measures were wound complications, blood transfusion, and postoperative thrombosis. All indicators were analyzed using meta-analysis software. Results were reported as mean differences or risk ratios with 95% confidence intervals. Results: Of 152 initial results, 9 studies involving 908 patients were included. The tranexamic acid group had lower indicators for total blood loss, hemoglobin decrease, and total drainage volume (P < .00001 for all). There were no differences between patients with versus without tranexamic acid in wound complications, including hematoma (P = .21) or infection (P = .18), nor were there any group differences in the prevalence of blood transfusion (P = .21) or postoperative thrombosis (P = .36). Conclusion: Tranexamic acid was able to effectively reduce postoperative hemorrhage in patients undergoing HTO without affecting the rates of wound complications, blood transfusion, or postoperative thrombosis.

Cachexia affects 50-80% of patients with cancer and accounts for 20% of cancer-related death, but the underlying mechanism driving cachexia remains elusive. Here we show that circulating lactate levels positively correlate with the degree of body weight loss in male and female patients suffering from cancer cachexia, as well as in clinically relevant mouse models. Lactate infusion per se is sufficient to trigger a cachectic phenotype in tumour-free mice in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, we demonstrate that adipose-specific G-protein-coupled receptor (GPR)81 ablation, similarly to global GPR81 deficiency, ameliorates lactate-induced or tumour-induced adipose and muscle wasting in male mice, revealing adipose GPR81 as the major mediator of the catabolic effects of lactate. Mechanistically, lactate/GPR81-induced cachexia occurs independently of the well-established protein kinase A catabolic pathway, but it is mediated by a signalling cascade sequentially activating Gi-Gßγ-RhoA/ROCK1-p38. These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of targeting GPR81 for the treatment of this life-threatening complication of cancer.

OBJECTIVE: This study focused on investigating the mechanism in which the KDM5D/E2F1/TNNC1 axis affected hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. METHODS: At first, we determined HCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis, as well as SOD activity, MDA content, and ROS level. ChIP assay was subsequently conducted to examine H3K4me3 modification in the E2F1 promoter region and the binding of E2F1 to the TNNC1 promoter region after KDM5D overexpression. Meanwhile, we performed western blot for testing KDM5D, H3K4me3, and E2F1 expression after KDM5D overexpression in Huh-7 cells. The binding of transcription factor E2F1 to the TNNC1 promoter region was assessed by dual luciferase reporter gene assay. We further observed the tumor growth ability in nude mice transplanted tumor models. RESULTS: Overexpressed KDM5D suppressed HCC proliferation, migration, and invasion, promoted the apoptosis, suppressed SOD activity, elevated MDA content and ROS level, and promoted ferroptosis. KDM5D suppressed H3K4me3 modification in the E2F1 promoter region and suppressed E2F1 expression in HCC cells. Reduced KDM5D, H3K4me3, and E2F1 expression was found after KDM5D overexpression in Huh-7 cells. Overexpressing E2F1 reversed the inhibitory effects of KDM5D on HCC cell proliferative, migratory, and invasive behaviors. KDM5D repressed TNNC1 transcription by inhibiting E2F1 binding to the TNNC1 promoter. In vivo KDM5D overexpression inhibited HCC development via the E2F1/TNNC1 axis. CONCLUSION: KDM5D inhibits E2F1 expression by suppressing H3K4me3 modification in the E2F1 promoter region, which in turn suppresses the binding of E2F1 to the TNNC1 promoter region, thus leading to the inhibition of HCC development.

Background: Exosomes play a role in intercellular communication and participate in the interaction between pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells and immune cells. Macrophages can receive tumor cell-derived exosomes to polarize into M2-type macrophages, which can enhance the invasion and metastasis of pancreatic cancer, leading to poor prognosis. However, the mechanism by which pancreatic cancer cell-derived exosomes promote M2-type macrophages is still unclear. Methods: M2 macrophage-associated exosome-derived key module genes were identified by differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) analysis using exoRbase 2.0, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and The International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) databases. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to identify key prognostic genes and obtain regression coefficients to establish prognostic signature. Immune infiltration, tumor mutations, and GSEA among different risk groups were compared. exoRbase 2.0, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis 2 (GEPIA2), HPA, and TISCH2 databases were used to further analyze the expression pattern of S100A9 in pancreatic cancer. In vitro experiments, cell-derived exosome isolation, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), western blot, flow cytometry analysis, cell transfection, transwell assay, and CCK-8 assay were applied to investigate the roles of S100A9 in macrophage M2 polarization and tumor progression. Results: The key genes of PDAC-derived exosomes promoting M2-type macrophage polarization were identified, and a risk score model was established. The risk score is related to the expression of common immune checkpoints, immune score, and stromal score, and the tumor mutational burden and biological function of high- and low-risk groups were also different. S100A9 was positively correlated with M2-type macrophage marker. In addition, scRNA-seq data from the TISCH2 database revealed that S100A9 is predominantly expressed in pancreatic cancer cells and mono/macrophage cells, suggesting that S100A9 in pancreatic cancer cells could be received by macrophages, thereby inducing macrophage polarization. In vitro, we used exosomes from BxPC-3 cell lines to coculture macrophages and found that macrophages were mainly polarized toward M2 type, which further promoted the proliferation and metastasis of PDAC. Conclusions: Our study established a reliable risk score model for PDAC-derived exosomes and M2 macrophages, identified the important role of S100A9 in macrophage M2 polarization, which provides a new strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of PDAC, and strengthened the understanding of the mechanism of tumor development and metastasis.

The combination of anti-rheumatoid arthritis (RA) drugs methotrexate (MTX) and baricitinib (BTN) has been reported to improve RA treatment efficacy. However, study on the strategy of combination is elusive when considering the benefit of the synergy between MTX and BTN. In this study, we found that the N-heterocyclic rings in the MTX and BTN offer hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interactions, driving the formation of exquisite vesicular morphology of nanovesicles, denoted as MB NVs. The MB NVs with the MTX/BTN weight ratio of 2:1, MB NVs (2:1), showed an improved anti-RA effect through the synergy between the anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative responses. This work presents that the intermolecular interactions between drug molecules could mediate the coassembly behavior into nanomedicine as well as the therapy synergy both in vitro and in vivo, which may provide further understanding on the rational design of combination nanomedicine for therapeutic purposes.

Accumulating evidence reveals the metabolism and neurotransmitter systems are different in major depressive disorder (MDD) between adolescent and adult patients; however, much is still unknown from the gut microbiome perspective. To minimize confounding factors such as geographical location, ethnicity, diet, and drugs, we investigated the gut microbial differences between adolescent and adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. We exposed the adolescent rats to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) for 3 weeks and assessed their behavior using the sucrose preference test (SPT), open field test (OFT), and forced swimming test (FST). We collected and sequenced fecal samples after the behavioral tests and compared them with our previous data on adult rats. Both adolescent and adult CUMS rats exhibited reduced sucrose preference in SPT, reduced total distance in OFT, and increased immobility time in FST. Moreover, compared to their respective controls, the adolescent CUMS rats had distinct amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) mainly in the Muribaculaceae family, Bacteroidetes phylum, while the adult CUMS rats had those in the Lachnospiraceae family, Firmicutes phylum. In the adolescent group, the Muribaculaceae negatively correlated with FST and positively correlated with SPT and OFT. In the adult group, the different genera in the Lachnospiraceae showed opposite correlations with FST. Furthermore, the adolescent CUMS rats showed disrupted microbial functions, such as "Xenobiotics biodegradation and metabolism" and "Immune system", while the adult CUMS rats did not. These results confirmed the gut microbiota differences between adolescent and adult rats after CUMS modeling and provided new insight into the age-related influence on depression models.

Chronic stress is deemed a significant clinical contributor to depression. The use of animal models of chronic stress can fully reveal the complex pathological mechanisms and their changing trends in the pathogenesis of depression, which is crucial for both disease prevention and therapy. It is also unknown how various forms of stress differ in their impact on animal physiology and behavior. The nucleus accumbens (NAc), an essential brain area for the pathophysiology of depression, and its underlying neural mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we systematically compared transcriptional signatures in the NAc of four chronic stress models in rats: chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS), chronic social defeat stress (CSDS), learned helplessness (LH), chronic restraint stress (CRS). The majority of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were unique to a single depression model, while the rank-rank hypergeometric overlap analysis showed that the CSDS and CRS models had the greatest overlap, and the CRS and CUMS models had the least. Then, we performed pathway analysis of the differential genes and found that the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway was significantly enriched not only in the LH, CRS and CSDS stress models, but also significantly enriched in stress genes that were also altered in at least two stress models. Finally, we found three hub genes (Dcx, Tnc and Wdfy4) by constructing co-expression networks for stress genes. In summary, our research has the potential to offer fresh insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying depression induced by different types of stress, highlighting both their similarities and differences. It may provide valuable clues for understanding the pathogenesis of depression.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: The involvement of the ureter as a site of metastasis of colorectal cancer is quite rare. Here we present FDG PET/CT findings of the right ureter metastasis from colon cancer in a patient after colectomy 6 years ago. 18 F-FDG PET/CT showed increased 18 F-FDG uptake in the right ureter with SUV max of 4.3. The pathology and immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of ureter metastasis from colon cancer.
